The Stories of Bernardo De Galvez

Developed and performed by Bruce Buonauro
Bernardo de Galvez (1746 - 1786)
, was a natural born citizen of Malaga, Spain.
He was well noted for his bravery and tenacity as an officer, General,
Governor, and gentleman. His greatest commendation came for his great service
as Governor General of Louisana and Florida (1776 - 1781) by King Carlos III.
The title bestowed upon him was that of " Yo Solo " meaning " I
Alone " as a result of his defeating the British, without the aid of
any outside sources.
To their dying days, the founding fathers of this great nation, Thomas Jefferson,
Benjamin Franklin, Patrick Henry, John Adams, James Madison, and James Monroe,
once a year would drink a toast to the contributions of General George Washington
and Governor General Bernardo de Galvez, Colonial Governor of Louisiana and
Florida.
Bruce Buonauros one man
performance as Bernardo de Galvez is a true to life look at a man and his
struggle to protect, aid, and foster the birth of the United States. We
watch as Bernardo reminisces over his challenges to protect, govern, and
contribute to the American Revolution in collaboration with Father Serra and
the California Missions.
We meet not only Bernardo but the influential, delightful, and sometimes provocative
characters of his past.
Currently, the "Stories of Bernardo De Galvez" is touring theatres
in Southern California.
